Part-time Peer Support Specialists / Part-time Senior Peer Support Specialists

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, BEING conducted online meetings and a survey asking what supports our members wanted to support their mental health.

As a result of this valuable feedback, BEING introduced a new stream of Peer Support Specialists to our organisation to offer supportive, non-crisis assistance over the phone and via online platforms during the COVID-19 Period.

We have recruited several new staff but are still calling for additional applications from suitably experienced and qualified individuals to fill the positions of Peer Support Specialists. See position descriptions below.

These roles will be required to work night and weekend shifts.

BEING Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant will provide high-level direct executive support and administration functions to the Chief Executive Officer and the executive team at BEING.

BEING Marketing and Communications Officer

The Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for the implementation of BEING’s Communications and media plans and strategies including website and social media interactions with members, supporters, government, media, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective, targeted and credible messaging and branding of our organisation.

Project Officer – BEING Lived Experience Network

The Project Officer will work closely with the Manager – Project and Operations, to develop phase one co-design processes and strategic direction for the BEING Lived Experience Network and register.

A key component of the role will be to scope an approach which better engages people with lived experience of mental health issues to be involved in government and non-government processes which support individual and systemic advocacy.

Manager – BEING Supported

This position will work with the CEO to manage the successful establishment and operations of the BEING Supported Warmline.

A key responsibility will be to build the organisational infrastructure and operationalize delivery of an innovative and sustainable operation beyond the initial six-month pilot program of BEING Supported, whilst providing line management to staff of the program.
