BEING – Mental Health Consumers receives core funding from the NSW Government to provide informed advice from those with lived/living experience for specific projects undertaken by the Ministry of Health. However, there are some areas where BEING would like to act on issues identified as important by mental health consumers or to equip consumers with the skills necessary to advocate with impact, but we struggle to do all of this work with our existing funding.

When you make a donation or contribute financially to BEING in other ways, not only are you helping to secure our independence and our ability to advocate with immediacy on the issues that matter to mental health consumers but you enable us to make meaningful improvements to the mental health system in NSW.

Please see below for the ways you can contribute to BEING – Mental Health Consumers.

Current ways you can help

Make a donation

There are many organisations providing excellent individual services and personal advocacy support to mental health consumers. However, a donation to BEING is different because it helps to improve the WHOLE mental health system that all consumers rely on, improving the outcomes for every NSW resident experiencing mental health challenges.

If you can make a donation to BEING – Mental Health Consumers, please click here to go to our fundraising page.

Know that whatever gift you can give will make a real difference and is much appreciated.

BEING uses the highly reputable Raisely platform to process our donations. Raisely is trusted by some of the worlds’s biggest not-for-profits including Beyond Blue, Oxfam, FoodBank, the Starlight Children’s Foundation and Act for Peace.

Leave a gift in your will

It’s important for adults of any age to have a will in place. Having a will provides peace of mind that should anything untoward happen to you, your assets will get distributed to the people you want, quickly and without any stress.

BEING has partnered with an online will-writing service called “Gathered Here” who can help you create a will for free! (If your situation is complicated you may want to consider using a solicitor.)

Either way, you might choose to leave a gift to BEING – Mental Health Consumers or other good causes when you create your will. We are so grateful for the bequests that we receive as they help us maintain our independence in advocating on mental health matters, resulting in a better system for everyone who the public mental health service.

Click here to go to BEING’s page on the Gathered Here website to create your will or email us at info@being.org.au if you have questions.

Sponsorship

We are always happy to explain to businesses where we need assistance and to work with you on an individual basis to create a bespoke sponsorship arrangement that meets your goals. For example, you might like to be the Presenting  Partner for one of our training courses: empowering people with mental health challenges to learn how to use their lived experience to help others and advocate effectively for change.

A sponsorship package can be a great way to get exposure for your business within our supporter base whilst providing much needed funds for our programmes.

If you’d like to know more about partner benefits, what’s available and how we can tailor a sponsorship package that is right for you, please email us at info@being.org.au
