This year’s Forum, co-presented by BEING – Mental Health Consumers and the Consumer Peer Workforce Committee, was the biggest ever held with 250 delegates attending.

As we celebrated 30 years of peer work in NSW and the 25th anniversary of this event, the dedication of consumer peer workers in both the public and private sectors shone brightly.

In a significant move, the event expanded its horizons to also include consumer peer workers from Community Managed Organisations, reflecting a holistic approach to the field’s evolution. This expansion promises potential for systemic improvements and increased recognition, enriching the overall mental health landscape.

We commend the founders of the Forum for their foresight and salute the ongoing commitment of both public sector and CMO consumer peer workers.

Let’s continue advocating for change, embracing progress, and steering the course toward a more supportive and brighter future for mental health.
