BEING has today made a submission to the NSW Government’s inquiry into workplace compensation advocating against changes that would make it harder for people with psychosocial disability from accessing the scheme.

BEING CEO Giancarlo de Vera commented on the submission saying,

“The proposed reforms to the workers compensation scheme risk excluding workers with psychological injuries from accessing necessary supports. This exclusion not only undermines the human rights of injured consumers, but also our economic security by limiting our ability to return to work when injured. The proposed reforms run the risk of further exacerbating underinvestment in the mental health system.”

“We urge the Government to prioritise human rights of mental health consumers, and our voice in the ongoing reform process.”
