Following shocking court revelations of abuse committed by two police officers in 2023, BEING has issued a media release, calling for a public apology from Interim NSW Police Commissioner Peter Thurtell and urgent action from the NSW Government to implement alternatives to police-led mental health crisis response.
The evidence detailed an 18-minute assault by two NSW police officers on the woman in which they allegedly punched, kicked, and dragged her by the hair, used excessive pepper spray and then shared footage of the assault via a messaging app.
